The title of this piece was inspired by evenings spent in an Irish pub in New York City listening to traditional Irish music with my spouse, Ashleigh. We both have familial ties to Ireland and enjoy the lilting feeling of jigs and reels. There is no direct musical connection between my piece and traditional Irish music — just a desire to create loose and lilting forward movement within the interactions of the ensemble members.
